Finalization of STORAFISH project - Virtual simulation of automated palletisation process
The STORAFISH Project, that involved CETMAR (Centro Tecnológico del Mar), OPTIMAR (Equipment manufacturer for fishing industry) and CTAG, has been finalised.

This Project was developed between September 2007 and October 2008.

The objectives were to study and analyse through virtual simulation an automated system for the validation of a palletization process of products proceeding from ships and refrigerated containers.

Actual processes are characterised by low automation and numerous workforce. The purpose of the Project was to optimise this process through a new system of pre-accumulation on conveyor belt and accumulation on pallets to manage a high number of references with few resources.

To carry out the simulation, CTAG’s experts used QUEST and ROBCAD software to analyse and validate the new process and its layout.

The simulation was achieved successfully and offers a viable system of automatic unloading of fish boxes. It results as a useful tool to test several scenarios and validate the industrial implementation of this solution.
