Autor: marketing Email: contact@ctag.com CHARPY Impact Pendulum The materials laboratory at CTAG, specialized in testing plastic components, textiles and cables according to the regulations of several automobile manufacturers, has incorporated a new ZWICK impact pendulum, model BPI-50COMC.10. This equipment allows the measurement of toughness in plastic materials through a standardized high strain-rate test which determines the amount of energy absorbed by a material during fracture. This absorbed energy is a measure of a given material's toughness. CTAG’s equipment allows to check the impact resistance, complying with the requirements of ISO 179-1. Testing can be performed on notched and unnotched samples. To prepare the samples, the materials laboratory at CTAG has a new ZWICK automatic notcher, model ZNO.
